One year ago, a major shift happened in my life…

It all started on a warm evening in Madagascar. I was standing on the porch outside my room listening to my sons heartbeat for the first time. The beauty of technology made it possible for me to virtually attend my wife’s ultrasound appointment.  In that moment, everything changed.

I was excited we were having a baby but hearing his heart flicker made it much more real. Something about that moment brought a clarity to my life and what God wanted to do through me the next several months.

As we traveled our way for hours through the rainforests of Madagascar I had a lot of time to think on the road. It was during this time I felt God place an urgency in me to do what I had been delaying.  Now that we were having a baby I knew I needed to embrace this urgency and take action.

As soon as I got back to Houston I told my wife and friends about this company I wanted to launch for small to medium sized churches. I didn’t even have a name but I did have a vision for what could be and should be.

There was only one problem…a big problem…

Creating this in 4 months wasn’t going to be easy. It was going to be hard and to be honest, I didn’t know if we could actually pull it off.

Have you ever felt like God has placed an idea or a burden for you to start something?

It can feel overwhelming.

Maybe you have been delaying what He is calling you to do because you feel overwhelmed by the idea. You don’t know if you could actually pull it off.

I have found the dreams God gives us are much bigger than we could accomplish on our own. If God gave us dreams small enough for us, we wouldn’t have to rely on him. We wouldn’t have to seek him. We wouldn’t have to listen to His guidance.

This new company was much bigger than me and it made me uncomfortable…

And uncomfortable is a great place to be with God. Proverbs 3:5-6 was a staple of my daily routine in those days.

Looking back, the only way we were able to do it was with God’s favor and provision.

In four months we created the plan, acquired financing, assembled the team and built over 250 church resources.

We launched on October 7th with a live online event.  During the broadcast, #MinistryPass was trending in the US and Canada.

It was an amazing day.

Today, I look back at last May when it was all just an idea and wonder…

What life would look like if I hadn’t made the decision to follow the calling of God?

What if I let fear or insecurity overtake the passion and ambition God gave me?

What if I had not said yes to what God wanted me to do?

What if I would have just waited and put it off?

What about you?

What is God calling you to do?

Have you been putting it off?

For some of you, He is calling you to plant a church. Others to launch a business.  And some to start something.

What if a year from now, you look back and wish you would have started today?

This month marks one year where a dream launched into reality.

I am in awe of what God has done through our small team to help pastors around the world. This month we will have had over 30,000 church leaders use a Ministry Pass resource.

What can God do in your life in one year?

I pray you have to courage to chase that dream and find out.

If God has placed a dream in your heart, I would love to hear about it. Just let put it in the comment section below for others to see and believe with you.
